Lead & Copper Testing — November 2026 Update
11/3/2026
November 6, 2026
The City of Frost is providing a follow-up to the lead and copper testing results announced on October 9, 2026.
As previously reported, routine testing conducted in September resulted in a lead action-level exceedance, requiring additional monitoring and regulatory follow-up.
What Has Happened Since Our Initial Notice?
The City has completed its initial public notification requirements and has continued working with our water system operator regarding the next steps.
Based on our latest discussions, the City anticipates the following additional testing in 2027:
-
January–June: 20 water samples
-
July–December: An additional 20 water samples
-
Additional testing at the water entry point from Navarro Mills and within the City's distribution system
These monitoring activities will help provide additional information as the City continues working through the regulatory process.
What Happens Next?
The first round of additional sampling is expected to begin in January 2027.
The City will continue coordinating with its water system operator and TCEQ and will provide further updates as information becomes available.
Residents are encouraged to review the original October 9 notice, which includes the testing results, health information, and recommended precautions for reducing potential lead exposure.
